It could be tinnitus which may be treatable. Often caused by loud or prolonged sound exposure, or infection.

See an ear doctor.

its called tinnitus

no known cure for it

it can happen if you damage the hairs behind the ear drum that transmit sound to the brain one can become irritated and not stop transmitting to the brain hence the constant ringing. this can be permanent or temporary or intermittent. depending on the extent od the damage or irritation of the hairs. they can also start to give false transmission to the brain ir you get a cold and you know how sometimes it goes to your ears..

well thats it in a nutshell

I wanted to learn about hearing loss and hearing conditions because i'm going DEAF. and i wanted to know what was wrong with me.why and soforth.

my best bet is avoid exposure to LOUD NOISES eg gunfire without hearing protection JackHammers
LOW ALTITUDE AIRCRAFT esp.JETS.

and of course the one everyone hates to hear

LISTENING TO MUSIC TOO LOUD!

by the way it was the low altitude military jets and unprotected gunfire that did me in and it doesnt happen all at once it just seems to build up over time

There is also a condition called (and please excuse my spelling) Reineir's (pronounced: rayneer's). There are several treatment options if this is the case.
