Hello. I'm an 18yr old female and I weigh 148. What can I do to lose at least 18lbs by May for prom?


I play softball. Practices are at least 2hrs long which include a lot of throwing, base running, two laps around the football field, stretching, hitting, etc. I also try to do at least 45mins on the Eliptical at my house, burning close to 800-1000 calories each time. My only problem is I think, I munch a lot, but I tried not to. It's hard because after practice and exercising I feel really hungry.

You should be able to lose 18 lbs by May. Do it right though. Cut out 500 calories a day, to drop 1lbs a week. one pound =3500 calories, but if you cut the 500 calories, you can exercise more to drop another 500 and lose more. This should get you to your goal. It helps you build lean muscle, not lose muscle. Be CAREFUL that you don't acquire any health issues. Enjoy your Prom whether you lose all the weight or not. And stay positive that will definitely help.

It took many years for me to learn to eat that way ALL the time, not just now and then. Weight going up and down and up and down is exactly HOW people get fat and stay fat. the roller coaster has that effect over time. so be careful.

Should concentrate on what you munch, we are supposed to have 5 medium sized meals a day. So as long as you control what is in these meals the better you will be. Never eat before bedtime, you should give yourself at least 2 hours before going to sleep after eating.

Carbs should only be eaten in the morning and midday. Dont watch TV. TV allows you to sit completely motionless for hours and you will not burn anything. If you ever find yourself sitting around not doing anything. Tap your feet, fidget, play with things, just dont stop moving, every action you take burns some calories so never stop moving.

There is a myth that eating fatty things will make you is simply amazing, Fatty foods may not be good for your body but they do not make you as fat as carbs. It sounds like you're getting the exercise you need but how regularly are you doing all of this? If you're not exercising five days a week you won't get anywhere! If you're serious about losing weight check out Suzanne Somers Somersize program. You can still eat really yummy food but you'll lose weight! try drinking a large glass of warm water or decaf green tea before each meal. it will make u feel more full so you don't over eat, and grteen tea has been proven to aid weight loss. also, make sure what your'e eating is healthy. some well known weightloss foods are celery and grapefruit. it takes more calories to chew and digest a stick of celery than the body can get out of it, so eating celery is like eating negative calories. pretty sweet huh? and the human body is unable to digest the sugar in grapefruits so all the sugar calories dont get absorbed. snacking isn't a bad thing, just make sure your snacks are light and healthy. and make sure you-re drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day.

You cant lose that much weight by may in a healthy way. You shouldnt lose much more than two pounds a week. If your munching your probably eating chips or drinking sodas and other crap. With as much excercise as you do I would recomend not eating junk food and drinking water instead of soda,juice or milk. And then do small things like use mustard instead of mayo on sandwichs, dont add cheese or bacon. Im guessing you already know this and just want an easy answer which there isnt. Unless you dont care about your health in which case you can try things like speed or bulemia.

u need to do A LOT of pilates, drink a lot of water, and have lot of fruits and veggies.

pilates does work and its the secret to a dancer.they have things for abs, stomach, and lots of other stuff. also its calming(yea,yea i know it sounds weird but its true!)and its fun to do with your friends. so grab some friends and do pilates!
