Question:
Answers:
The signs are pale in the face, pain in the chest and some times shooting down the left arm, sweating, dizziness.
What to do: 1st and most important is to get someone to call 911 if possible send 2 people together so one won't get scared and just leave. If by yourself you go make the call. Lay person down on their back and elevate their feet. Loosen any tight clothing,(tie, belt,) do nothing as long as the person can still breath and has a pulse and stay with person until EMT arrives. If person's heart stops start CPR until EMT shows.

If they are breaking out in a cold sweat, or feel deep pressure on their chests, they are showing possible symptoms of a heart attack. Also, if are weak or feel a numbness or discomfort in they left side of their body, say their arm leg chest or jaw, they show signs. Call 911 first and foremost. Then, keep them awake and give 'em a bayer aspirin.
shortness a breath, hurts to breath, left arm hurts or feels numb, sweating, some or all of these. some feel more comfortable sitting, some laying down. try to keep them from walking.do not give food. give them an aspirin. BUT, FIRST CALL 911.
Signs:
- central, crushing chest pain which can radiate into the left arm, neck, jaw or through to the back.
- Nausea and occasionally vomiting.
- cold, clammy, greyish colour to the skin.
- can cause total collapse with loss of consciousness, but relatively rare.
The absolute best thing you can do for someone you suspect is having a heart attack is to give them 300mg of aspirin. Either soluble aspirin, or have them chew and swallow regular aspirin. And call an ambulance, because they need to be in hospital where they can be monitored and treated.
And just for reference, you only do CPR if someone is unconscious, isn't breathing and has no pulse. And new guidelines actually suggest a ratio of 30 compressions to 2 breaths is more beneficial.
