Hi Alison, people find it hard to stick to anything they restrict. Exercise is the key more than the diet. Also your body conditions itself, if you ate nothing but carrots for two weeks then gave them up your body would crave them. The best thing to do is set yourself a goal for a week, and so on. By the inch its a sinch by the yard its hard. Take it slow. And don't crash diet as they are the worst.

The hardest thing is going without all the foods that you enjoy. Allow yourself one treat a week but dont cut out everything you like. you could also try finding healthier alternative snacks. I was(well still am!)a complete chocaholic but i found that snacking on pears was just as good cos they are quite sweet. b/c so many people deprive themselves of the foods that they enjoy. It is not about WHAT foods you are eating, it is about HOW MUCH of it you are eating. cause food is to yummybecause the things that taste the best are not in the diet catagory..we as people usually go for what we like and that is what tastes best to us.
you know.diets are not exactly so good.if you take the t out of diet what do you get.. I suggest a healthier way..fallow me..i know i have two kids and am in great shape people think i am under 18 all the time.n e way..
when you wake up in the morning try to wake up at the exact same time..get up with enough time to do a twenty min. aerobic exercise that you can handle..drink one glass of water before your workout and then one after. Then have a light meal of cereal, and an egg and a small glass of juice or milk..you will probebly be so full of water that you will not have much room for all that.make sure at dinner and lunch that you have it at the same time every day. drink as much water as you can untill lunch, go for a short walk like ten min after a small sandwich and some veggies..after your walk you can have a treat..don't over do it but go ahead and have those chips or that candy just a little treat though. follow it with some water and then at dinner time prefferrably before 6pm..have a light meal of veggies, meat, and a dairy serving..or fruit..make sure it's healthily made..no frying..light fat, no fast food..check labels for trans fat..stay away from that..

BET THAT IF ONE OF YOU CAN REACH THAT GOAL THAT YOU HAVE SET OF LOSING WEIGHT SOMEONE GETS THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY OR ETC.
MAKE IT FUN SO YOU WONT GET BOARD AND FALL OFF THE WAGON AND REGRET IT LATER

Our society revolves around food. If you want to hang out with someone, you go where? A restaurant where there's food, a bar where there's snacks or to someone's house where they will serve you snacks or a meal.
Although everyone professes to hate fat people, in truth most of us (80% I think) are fat. Our culture doesn't encourage exercise, it encourages sloth.
To stay on a diet and exercise program you have to fight the system as well as your internal cravings and innate laziness (not an insult; we're all lazy at heart). It takes willpower and usually a caring friend.
