The only other option I can think of is rather than removing it, you could enhance or cover it with tattoo if you're not opposed to tattoos.

You can also have it removed surgically. They just numb the area and then use a scalpel to remove it. That's what they did with one of mine years ago, and it was painless.

I have no idea on costs, or anything like that. (This was back in '79.)
