is any one takeing a beta blocker, and haveing side effects?

Question: ive been on a beta blocker for my heart ,going on a year! ever since ive been on this, my moods have changem im very moody, im tired, i can do things like i use too, my hair comeing out more, and ive gain alot of weight! i told my doctor, he said it will go away, but it hasnt! can anyone, in new albany,indiana, help me ,find a heart doctor?

Weight gain and depression --- oh, yes! But it is better than being dead, so I keep trying. KEEP talking to your doctor or ask his/her nurse. Also, make sure you are getting your thyroid levels checked. The problem with just going to a heart doctor is that you may have more than just heart problems. You might also need to see an endocrinologist (they take care of thyroid and diabetes problems). The best way to find good doctors is to ask a nurse for names---especially hospital nurses in your area. Good luck!!

i was put on beta blockers several years ago for migraines. it caused me to have increased heartrate.

A heart Dr. would be a cardiologist. There should be a state board in Indiana that certifies medical specialists as being "Board Certified." Ask a medical practitioneer or try search in Google. Do be sure to select a Board Certified cardiologist.
