Why the first things that medical doctor do in the hospital is measuring temperature and blood pressure?
Question:
Answers:
They are both very good indicators of whether something is wrong. They are the basic vital signs of the body. An elevated temperature can indicate that there is an infection, as your body fights whatever is going on it causes your temp. to go up. Then there are times that a person body temp. goes down. The whole purpose though is so that they have a baseline to work with. They continue to monitor those things and so they will know whether it has gone up or down. The blood pressure is very important. It can tell them alot. Again it is very important to have a baseline to go by. They do indicate if there is a problem. although it doesn't necessarily mean there is something wrong. They just need to have an initial reading so that they have something to go by.

Body temperature can indicate infection or an immune response. Blood pressure can change how they treat you - if your blood pressure is too high.. certain treatments can't be done. It's also a measure of bodily stress.
they do it to get a baseline on you ..it will give tell-tale signs if you start to change later in your hospitalization
Because those two things are the easist test to take to see if there is something wrong with you or in telling what is wrong with you..
Yes. They do that all the time. It is very important.
Those are basic measurements that they take that can tell them vital things from the beginning. Temperature is important to start with so they know if you're running a fever or if your temperature is too low (which can happen). Blood pressure is important because it tells them what your heart is doing. If your blood pressure is high or low, then they would want to take measures to immediately correct it (depending on what you're there for).
Those two tests cost next to nothing to do, and sometimes they do reveal something. Fever usually means that your body is fighting an infection. High and low blood pressure also reveal some of the inner mysteries of the body. So why not?
And they're also tests that the patient can easily understand so they perform a certain placebo role, too.
