I have a lump just above my right breast. Any ideas?

The lump is about two inches long and runs along just under the bone but sticks out more than the bone and i have nothing under the left one.

A mammogram would not help you with a lump in this area, as it would be impossible to image. Go see your doctor. An ultrasound might be a good place to start. X-rays would be no good and a CT or MRI is very expensive. Most of the scans I have performed for this reason turn out to be benign. Usually, a lump there is attributed to fat distribution. BUT, you cannot be too careful. And if you have it imaged, then you know pretty much for sure what you are dealing with.

probably cancer. yeah. probably cancer, yep, cancer.. delicate yet complicated, weird yet deadly if that lump had not been removed early. my cousin had had that kind of lump. but fortunately shes still alive!

If you have healthcare, make an appointment with your family doctor/primary care physician so he can refer you (if that's what your insurance requires). or just make the appointment directly with an OB. If you don't have healthcare, find a free clinic in your area that can examine you.

Either way, the docs are going to be the only ones who have the knowledge and technology to take a gander and let you know what's going on.

If your refering to the clavicle bone it could be a swollen lymph node due to stress, if your refering to the sternum or one of the ribs it could be anything and needs to be checked out right away. I wouldn't say mammogram if it's above the breast, tumors and other cancerous growths form in the actual breast glandular tissue around the lactiferous ducts. But definently go get x-rayed it would answer all the questions!
