can someone tell me whats the limited number of carbs a diabetic can have at one meal?

Should I grow my hair out?

Answers:
The answer depends on the amount of insulin you are taking. If you are on a two shot a day regimen then you have a certain number of carbs, proteins, and fats to eat at each meal and within specified times. If you are taking pills your doctor also prescribed a certain diet to follow.

15 grams of carbs are typically counted as a serving. Depending on the meal you may be alloted 1 to three servings. Keep in mind that not only the amount of carbs but the type of carbs you eat will also have an effect on your blood sugar. Complex carbs such as whole grains and brown rice will cause a slower rise in blood sugar then carbs found in simple carbs such as twinkies and white bread.

Usually it depends on the diabetic if you are taking insulin or taking pills or just trying to control it by what you are eating. You should eat a lot of protein and fruits and veggies. Try to stay away from potatoes and pastas but if you have to have these only eat them at one meal a day and do not eat potatoes for lunch and pasta for supper because that will make your sugar to high. Ask you doctor what is right for you they should have a sheet you can go by.

can choclate help against cancer?

I am in the same procedure myself and I limit myself to 8 carbs a day 2 for breakfast,2 lunch, snack and 1 carb for dinner.Granted,Don't rely on the information I am giving you to use for your own personal use, however talk to your dietician or doctor to see how much carbs you may intake a day.I would suggest buying the south beach diet book zone or a diabetic cookbook as they have wonderful recipies which includes how much fat, protein, carbs you may intake.Eat lean proteins such as chicken,fish,beans,lentils.Iro. rich foods such as dark greens, try to limit the amount of natural sugar foods such as fruit( if you are insulin dependant)and dairy such as low fat or skim milk, fat free yogurt, low fat cheese. Here is a article you may find interesting..Hope it helps!
