Do dentists use Novocaine when doing root canal?

Does anyone know what kind of anesthetic drug dentists use when performing a root canal? I am getting mine done in Asia and I know they only give u novocaine (the kind u use when u need to get your tooth pulled)- will I still feel anything if they use that kind of drug?? or do the ones in America use a different one? I AM SO SCARED!!

any teeth whitening remedies that really works?

Answers:
I got a root canal this week. Have no idea what they used but I didn't feel anything until it was over. Then you will be sore.

Is it dangerous to scan my face? Should I close my eyes?

Novocaine is extremly numbing. I'm sure you'll be fine. Why again are you getting a root canal in Asia, of all places?

I keep getting nasty painful toe cramps----what can be done to prevent themor stop them?

That's all I ever had for a root canal and I had two when I was 12 years old. Learned very quickly to take better care of my teeth. My first one didn't hurt at all after but my second one did and they were 2 different dentists one professional and the other a student. So I don't know if it hurt because it was a student or because it was a different tooth. Good luck!

NOT FrIZZING?

NO. We use Lidocaine.
Novocaine is not really used for much of anything anymore.
The name just sticks around and we can't get reid of it.

Yes we almost always numb the patient. There are some exceptions when the tooth is alredy dead and it's a fairly straight easy tooth with a single canal, and the patient is willing. Then its possible to do a root canal quickly and painlessly with only a little charp pain when it is packed.

how do i stop my fart?

Most dental offices will use Lidocaine or maybe Septocaine. Too many people were allergic to the Novocaine, so they stopped using it. Good luck.
