erythroblastosisfetalis is when the Rh+ fetus carried in the Rh- mother is being attacked by the mother's antibodies. This happens in the 2nd pregnancy of an Rh- mother carrying an Rh+ baby, as the antibodies are developed after the birth of the first one (when the baby's blood mixes with the mother at birth). It's a potentially fatal condition, and the baby's erthrocytes tend to clump. The med they treat the mother with is called Rhogam.(I remember this all from my freshman anatomy class 6 years ago! I'm proud of me!!)
