Cosmology is a word creation from cosmo(s) or universe and "logy," teaching, study, like in biology.

Cosmology is the teaching and study of the influence of cosmic bodies on earth life, which includes astrology. Astrology and astronomy were one subject at universities, until not too long ago in time.

Here is what Webster's dictionary says:

Cos·mol·o·gy
"1. The study of the physical universe considered as a totality of phenomena in time and space.

2.a. The astrophysical study of the history, structure, and constituent dynamics of the universe.
b. A specific theory or model of this structure and these dynamics."

Many people think astrology is nonsense, yet, we all know that the little moon can raise the great tides in the huge oceans, and people may not sleep as restful when the moon is full! Why would this be, if the moon would not have any influence on us?

When the little moon has such influence, what then can bodies as large as Jupiter and Neptune do? We may imagine that they send out a kind of radiation which may influence us like the micro waves and sun flares do, and that their movement around the sun causes a kind of pull and push.

There is so much we cannot exactly measure because our instruments are just too crude for such fine energy. Yet, the earth revolved around the sun before science "discovered" it!
