How dangerous this is depends if it is a lower or upper tooth. I am a chiro. and I had a patient who did just that, he ignored an upper root canal even though the tooth was infected. He would come in and it sounded like he had a cold, but it was not a cold it was the products of the infection in his maxillary sinus in his upper jaw. Well I kept telling him how dangerous this was, but he kept ignoring it. finally it got so bad he did see a dentist, and it was very close to eating through the bone and into his brain.
