My grandmother's cornea is bleeding. How common is this and is there any treatment?
Question:
Answers:
Is it actually the white bit of her eye? I think this can be quite common and looks alot more serious than it actually is, however because your grandmother is on the medication I think it's important she goes to see her gp, especially if this happens to her often
Other Answers:
Sounds pretty serious - she should see an eye specialist.
go to hospital now and see an eye docotre now. that not normal for her eye to bleed.
It is rather common, but the cause of it can make it more serious.
The cornea is the fastest healing tissue in the human body.
Corneal topography is a diagnostic procedure performed to detect and map irregularities in the corneal surface. A computer produces corneal images using colors to identify bumps and depressions, much like a topographic map of the earth depicts changes in land surface. The images aid in the diagnosis of keratoconus, astigmatism, and refractive errors.

Her cornea can't actually bleed because there are no blood vessels in the cornea. She should see her eye doctor to determine where the bleeding is coming from and the best way to deal with it.
