Is there anyone out there that uses the CPAP machine?

I've been using cpap for almost 5 months.I am sleeping wonderfully now, but ever since, I've had runny drippy nose and sneezing fits. Is this par for the course? Just wondering.

Answers:
CPAP: An acronym for Continuous Positive Air Pressure. This is a machine that has a mask that goes over the nose and possibly the mouth. The unit provides increased air pressure to help overcome obstructions that are associated with obstructive sleep apnea. However, these units do not work well for many patients and tend to cause stomach bloating and conjunctivitis. http://home.att.net/~jnozum/Trach/TrachDef.htm
A 2001 Swedish study found that people with respiratory tract disorders, including asthma, chronic bronchitis, or seasonal allergic rhinitis, reported symptoms of sleep apnea more often than those without any of these ailments.

It sounds like you are not alone with these side effects. Good luck.
