i still haven't had a period and i went to the doc should i go ahead & take my birth control instead of waitin

Answers:
Well, it depends. Are you sure you aren't pregnant? If you are pregnant and take birth control pills it can harm the unborn fetus.

However, if you aren't pregnant, it should be okay. Woman often miss periods because of stress, hormone changes and a variety of other reasons.

If you don't have or can't get ahold of your doctor, a good person to call would be a local pharmacist. They are pretty knowledgeable on these subjects too. And a whole lot easier to get ahold of.

It is always best to see your doctor though. Not having a period can be a sign of a problem you might want to get checked out. But if you have regular paps, and know you've had a lot of stress in your life and think its just a one time thing, you should be fine just calling your doctor or pharmacist.

Tell your doctor you really don't want to wait. Either because it will make the period more painful and heavier when it comes, or because you want to make sure you are protected against pregnancy and feel safer if you could take the pill.
