If you've already had mono and it stays with you for life, do the symptoms ever come back?
Question:
Answers:
Once you have been infected with EBV, your body may periodically shed (or give off) the virus throughout your lifetime, possibly spreading the virus to others. This can occur despite the fact that you do not have symptoms after your initial mono infection; the virus may still be found in your saliva up to 18 months after you have recovered from your symptoms.
Other Answers:
Yes the symptoms can resurface. About 6% of people who have had mono will relapse.

Yes you can relapse over again. Most people do not.
I had it over the summer and so far I have Not had any relapses . My doctor told me that I would have Antibodies but I shouldn't get mono again.
Hi, I had mono about 10 years ago and never had any problems throughout my life with any symptoms returning nor has anyone that I have been with ever have gotten it. So I don't think that half of what they say about it is true. So, please don't believe everything you hear about it, take it into consideration. IMO, i don't think you will experince a "relapse" at all. Enjoy your life and don't worry about it :)
