yes
yes absolutly all women do
Yes becuase they can fall pregnant and give birth the only possible way for that to happen would be if they were to experience their menstrual cycle.
yes - mental challenges or not these people will still go through puberty the same as other people their age. This creates a challenge in teaching them how to take care of themselves during this process. I used to work with special needs students and I could tell you some stories!
why wouldnt they
Yuck
Yes, special needs persons CAN have their period and get pregnant. Which is why my facilty for Special Needs no longer allows men to care for our women clients. There were intolerable problems that developed a while ago.
Yes, they can have menses and get pregnant like any other female.
yes. dd women do get their periods..what does special ed have to do with down syndrome? that is a education classification.like e.d. or l.d..ask yourself this, would a person who doesn't have dd get their period?
yeah i worked at a group home and come to find out this is a VERY sensitive subject, because they cant really take care of themselfs as well, you cant try to get them to get a hysterectomy even if its for there better over all personal care, and if they end up having a baby the state is stuck with getting 24 hour care for the mother father and baby, in some cases the state is stuck funding for a whole house and covering all expenses. it can be a huge mess, ive seen it become a huge one, but yeah they can just as easy as any other woman, if you suspect your student has started their period i would go and talk to a nurse that handles her care asap, women with special needs dont really know to expect it and if they see a gush of blood and dont know what its from, well you can imagine have you ever seen the movie carrie? pretty much same thing! Its not pretty, seen that happen before also!
Yes, they can even get pregnant!

only the girls.. medical science is working on the problem though.
Lord yes. And yes, they can get pregnant, too. Just because their is a limitation or condition with their learning ability, their body still works fine. Why do you ask?
Yes they can. They still have the same body parts as a normal female does but they are just mentally ill. I know someone who works with down syndrome girls and women and she tells me how they get their periods with the cramps and all just like every other girl. Here is some more additional info from a website (Like all teenagers, individuals with Down syndrome undergo hormonal changes during adolescence. Therefore, teenagers with Down syndrome should be educated about their sexual drives. Scientists have medical evidence that males with Down syndrome generally have a reduced sperm count and rarely father children. Females with Down syndrome have regular menstrual periods and are capable of becoming pregnant and carrying a baby to term.
