What is the best make up brand for darker (african) skin tones?

Whoever said that there isn't a good brand of make up for our darker skin tones is absolutely wrong. (I think it was the first answerer.) There is good make up for anyone, regardless of skin color.
I am currently using L'Oréal True Match Make Up. It works perfectly, and blends really well with dark skin. There are also a lot more choices for darker skin colors, compared to other popular brands like CoverGirl and Maybelline New York. I definitely suggest you try L'Oréal True Match. If you have a hard time picking the right color, all of the places that sell True Match have a transparent color swatch card that has all of the shades on it. Put the back of your hand under the card and see which color blends in with your skin tone the best. That's what worked for me.
You can also check out www.lorealparisusa.com with more information on choosing the right color.

Good luck!

Try the foundations and color cosmetics from Mary Kay. they have a great assortment of colors and you can try before you buy!

girl i also a dark shade and we are the lucky ones all the colours go with our tones but with lip stick pinks are the best or just cleat gloss the eyes says it all..

new friend..

Lancome has a few, but they always seem to discontinue because of poor sales. Also I hear Mac is good. truly I think there isn't any make-up out there that can capture the naturally beautiful pigments and undertones of dark skin. You'll probably have to look around, and when you see someone with a nice face ask, "What do you use?"

Iman is amazing!! Her line really does wonders on daker skin tones. A girlfriend of mine is really dark and she's scared of colour because either it doesn't show or she looks like a clown. I'm significantly lighter than she is and the Imna blush Pecan looked as great on her as it does on me. mac also has wonderful shades for darker skin. If you're on a budget Revlon has some decent shades too but nothing beats Iman.

Whoever says there is not a makeup out there for African Americans doesnt know what they are talking about. Unfortuantely for us- the darker the skin color- the more we have to spend. Fashion Fair, MAC and Victoria's Seceret (yes I said Vickys secrets), have great makeup for dark skin tones. You can find Fashion Fair at Bealls, Palais Royal, Dillards and Foleys. MAC makeup is sold only at certain counters, Dillards and Foleys. I hope you find something.
