Simply, breathe more. The more and longer you expand and contract your lungs.the more they will "work out". For lung capacity.try holding your breath underwater. Ive been doing it for about 5 years and Im up to about 45 seconds.

Sing while you exercise. A lot of Singers to this if they have to dance and sing at the same time.
Drown yourself. Seriously. Keep your head underneath water opening up your mouth every now and then untill your at the point where you know if you go one more second its all over. Dangerous but It will work wonders.
If you smoke, quit. Take deep breaths daily. Start jogging and work up to running. When breathing be sure to use your lower lungs. If you are not sure you are doing this, put your hands just below your ribs (above the hips) and make your breaths force your hands out. If you watch an old Doris Day movie and she's wearing a tight waisted dress, you will see her expand from the side. Make sure you expand your diaphragm. Practice controlling your breath, singing helps with this.
