I need an operation for an inscisional hernia. Anybody ever have one repaired and how was it done?

It would depend whether you have a regular hernia or massive. In any event, the stomach is opened where the hernia is, the intestine (if it's your stomach) is manipulated back in, then you are stitched up. Best of luck, after surgery, do not lift anything heavy and do not gain weight or you can bugger up the surgery. If your hernia is really bad or if you are overweight, have them insert a nylon screen inside for reinforcement. My first one held with screen but the second is there and requires repair as we speak.
