Do Sanitary Belts work well?
Question:
Do they work better than sticky pads? My friend is in her 20's and she started on stickon pads, but now she switched to the belted kind of napkins and she LOVES them. I asked her why and she said they hold in place, don't stick to her, fit well, etc. Any other positive experiences? Do any women out there still use them?
Answers:
Let me speak from personal experience: Yes.
I was reluctant to try them (a family member recommended them) because I had used the adhesive type all my life (I am 28).
What I found suprised me:
- Hold in place better vs. undies that allow pads to shift around.
- Hold closer to body - instead of resting on panties, they are pulled close by the belt.
- Can be used without undies - nice for nices/hot days
- Don't stick to me!
- Don't stick/fold to themselves
I now have used them for 3 years and would NEVER go back to stickies. The other lady here must have used them a long time ago - they are much better now.
Definitely better. and no risk of TSS (1200/women a year die of TSS in the U.S.).
Hope this helps!

They still have those? Weird!
I've only read about those belted ones in books! And I'm almost 30!
I hate them! Then again I hate all pads. This was reinforced after having my 2 children.I bled for 6 weeks with the first and 8 with the second. I have to use tampons. I wore the belt when I first started menstruating and it was like wearing a diaper!
