What exactly are delusions?
Question:
Answers:
A delusion is a false belief. That’s all.
Other Answers:
Delusions are impressions that the brain receives that something is present (IE sounds like footsteps, people from your past, etc.). These are usually caused by sparatic brain nerve cells firing. The brain does not know how to interpret these signals, so it takes items to explain this from its own memory. That is why many people with insomnia hear others coming for them. If one is uncomfortable with recent events and has been deeply and emotionally disturbed by it, it is possible that they see the item or person appearing before them again and again.
Delusions are the belief in things that are patently untrue, such as that one can fly like Superman, or that one does not need sleep. If the thing is totally possible (such as going to college) then it is not a delusion, but if it is impossible then it is.
