when guys decide to grow thier hair..why does most of them`s hair curl?

just noticed with friends hair..their hair looks straight when its short and then as soon as it grows it gets real curly.is it the texture or what?and why doesnt woman`s hair do the same?

The this happens is because the person really has curly hair and so you are just use to seeing them with short hair that it seems like they have straight hair.
