what is the latest and best medecine for bipolar?
Question:
Answers:
There are a lot of medicines for bipolar, and, as you can probably imagine, no consensus best. The best medicine is a very individual matter as different people respond in different ways. I would say the most recent bipolar med (in the US) is aripiprazole, and some people have a good response, while others do not.
Other Answers:
Not all medications work for all people. What works best for someone else, might not work for you. The only person who can answer your questions would be your doctor.
I take Lexapro, and Lamictil for my bipolar.
This is a very good website which gives you near all info needed for this disorder. www.BipolarManiaInfo.com
I don't know what the latest is - I stick with what works for me which is Lithium. As far as what's "best", that's something you'll have to find out for yourself. Unfortunately for me, that meant trial and error of different things at different levels and all sorts of different states of crazy. What's just as important as the correct meds is having the correct doctor so make sure yours is really good. There are some out there who I seriously believe are nuttier than their patients!
