it depends on a couple of factors:
1) Are you doing it independent, or at a club?
If you are independent, you make what you put in. You will have to work hard to find clients. You will have to network, network, and network. Not only that, but you will have to either train people at their homes, apartment gyms, etc. Because clubs will not let you train their customers at their place for free. So, you can make anywhere from $40 to $100 an hour, depending on your customers. Say 3 clients a day for 5 days a week, that's an average of $200 a day or $1,000 a week.
2) If you work with a club, then you don't have to look for the clients (since the club will be giving them to you), but you will have to keep them and sell them packages. Plus , a good portion of what you charge goes to the house.

I am a former personal trainer. Well I still do some occasion personal training but I am concentrating on ME for a while!

It depends #1 where you live and what clintel' you are wanting. I could have made big money if I had set up shop (so to speak) in a rich neighborhood.

I am/was cheap because I loved doing what I did. I wasn't out to make money. I only charged $50 an hour and I did lots of freebies too.

I work a full time job and all the fitness classes I taught and personal training I did was more a hobby than anything.

Just make sure when check out the personal trainers credentials. That is so important! Ask them what certs they have and how long they have been personal training.
