What are some good tips on keeping your teeth healthy with braces?
Question:
have had braces for about 1 year and almost every time i go to the orthodontist they say i need to brush my teeth better.
Answers:
You really need to make sure you are brushing your teeth properly while you have braces. Take your time while you are brushing your teeth and make sure you don't miss any areas. Also, in addition to brushing. make sure you are flossing at least once a day by using a floss threader.
Other Answers:
Brush them, Clean them, dont mess with them, idk just dont pick at them or eat chewy gum/candy liek the dentists say and just follow the rules your dentist gives you.
No soda, No chips, no candy, brush daily(maybe even after eating)Floss using floss threaders. Or even, try using floss without wax, it tends to be pliable when removing tartar or plaque interproximally(in between the teeth. Or even try brushing in circles, b/c your braces are straight so straigt brushig might miss some important areas. Simple circle motions.

Brush them at least three times a day, don´t eat sweets (also good for the body :-) use mouthwash. Same method as without braces I suppose.
And as your orthodontist say, you should really brush them better. Maybe you should take an electric brush, It is much easier and makes teeth much cleaner. When I first used such a brush I thought I would´ve never used a brush before, such a difference it was.
