How can I gain weight withouth looking fat?

I am 5'5" tall and weight 106 lbs. I've been told I am too skinny and even though I don't think I look horrible, I would like to gain at least 5 lbs, so I can look the way I want myself too. I'm not extremely active, and I do eat quite a good amount of food daily. I just want to gain a bit of weight but not look chubby. Is this possible?

Strength training - every other day. Be sure to consult a personal trainer on how to do exercises correctly and what weight/sets/reps you should be doing. Since muscle weighs more than fat, if you build muscle you will weigh more but your body fat percentage will not increase.

What she said. Begin lifting weights, and adding more protein to your diet (meats, nuts, beans, dairy products) and you should gain healthy muscle weight.
Muscle is the best kind of weight you can gain. It looks great and its healthier.
just put the desired weight on and then eat healthy to maintain your weight
