How long does it take a kidney stone to pass and what to do about the pain?
Question:
Answers:
Your doc should be able to give you pain meds until the stone passes (which can be from days to weeks depending on size).
There is the option of having the stone 'blasted' with ultrasound to break it up. There are some contradictions to this though, my mom is on blood thinners so she couldn't do that. They basically sent her home with pain meds galore and told her to wait it out.
Good luck, and contact your MD.
Other Answers:
it depends upon the size of the stone. the pains are usually but if you are under proper medication it is an easy affair to get these stones passed.
