Freestyles swimming stroke effectiveness. way is better?
Question:
I free style swim both for cardiovascular workout and to lose weight. I can do non-stop laps for half an hour now (when I started 6 months ago I couldn't even do a HALF lap non stop). I'm trying to figure out which way of kicking is the most effective: long deep kicks, of little quick kicks? I am looking for a better workout, and more weight loss. Thanks

When I started swimming to lose weight and to tone up I used the small kicks, then I used the long. Now I alternate between them, going down the pool I use short kicks, coming back up I use the long ones and I feel like I have gotten a better work out. Hope this helps. Good Luck
