i'm a belly-dance teacher, how many crunches should i make my girl students do daily?

right now i make them do 200/day, but they dont seem tired, achey, or burned..>?

okay I';ll play. First you need to get them really dehydrated by turning the heat way up and making them dance for hours. Then make them do crunches until their abs seize up in cramps, you'll be able to inspect the contracted muscle then and see how well they are doing. No gatorade til cramps! That's the price of admission at your dance studio!!

Crunches use the surface level abs. Why do you want your students tired, achey or burned? That doesn't make sense to me. i am also a belly dance teacher. I would go towards developing the muscles closer to the inside of the body such as the psoas. What made you decide crunches are the right exercise for belly dancers anyway? What is your goal here? What are you having them do it for? What will they get from it? How does it help them bellydance?
are you sure they are actually doing the 200 daily? if so then mabye you could gradually increase by 10 a day so eventually you will be satisfied buy the amount of crunches they are doing
