How can I make myself fall asleep?
Question:
Answers:
Develop a routine each night while preparing to go to sleep. Your body will adjust to this routine and try to go to bed about the same time each night. Watching tv, reading a good book, a warm bath and milk are some things that help. If this fails, talk with your doctor about it since there could be medical reasons that you can't fall asleep, like depression. Other than this, Tylenol PM is a good over the counter drug that really works. Good night and sweet dreams.
Other Answers:
Try taking a warm bath and get some warm milk.
Close your eyes and think of something wonderful.
My sister has very sarcastically suggested a bout of heavy drinking. I disagree.
I'd suggest finding little games that you can play in your head. As stupid as it sounds, I often try to name famous people based on their initials. Alan Alda, Bridget Bardot, Chick Correa, David Duchovny.
I've gotten pretty good at that one, so it doesn't work so well any more. So, we try this: Alton Brown, Brian Boitano, Charles Babbage.
I do stuff like that. Sometimes I also take valerian root tea. It helps knock me out. It smells like feet, but it helps me sleep. My sister also suggests Celestial Seasonings Sleepy Time Extra. She says it tastes better than the foot tea.
Good luck.
