It is too early in the USA to give it a great deal of worry. I would like our government to make sure there is vaccine on hand should the time arrive we have to face this worry. Bird flu has the potential to be deadly wherever it shows, but so far it is not epidemic and only pandemic in some areas of the world. If you are traveling to a high risk area for bird flu, I would suggest getting a vaccine before you go to the area. I believe there should be concern, but not worry..especially if the "worry" borders on paranoia. There was worry about Mad Cow Disease when it was written about in headlines in our news, but now there is little talk of it. MCD still exists, but it isn't making headlines. SARS made the headlines also and there were a few localized cases in North America, yet we had people coming to the ER with flu symptoms who were SURE they had SARS..they didn't. Concern about Bird Flu? YES! Worry about Bird Flu? NO!
