Can I hold a Cosmetology License in two or more states at the same time?

Anyone Know if you can hold a Cosmetology License in two or more states at the same time or does your one license become "bad"? I have a NY Cosmo license and am trying to get my WA state license.will that make my NY lisence not be good anymore or will it be ok? I can't find this answer anywhere. Please if you know can you help me!

if you hold a NY license you cannot use it in WA state unless you upgrade your license. i think you have to know the laws of that state and get a test on it.
