What is a good lotion or ointment or other topical treatment for very dry skin?
Question:
The skin on my hands gets so dry it sometimes cracks and bleeds.
Answers:
Hi Dot .
It might seem odd, but coconut oil is pretty near the best there is.
Be sure to get organic coconut oil from a health food store. It has almost no scent, and lasts all day on your skin.
See a dermatologist, too. There could be a problem that will take more than a good lotion to heal.
Other Answers:
Aveneeo Oatmeal lotion
lubriderm
Eucerin is good for very dry skin.
Well, funny you should ask this now. I just started using EMU oil from Bird of Paradise Emu Ranch in Georgetown, TX. Actually, I think the ranch is in Bastrop but the oil is bottled in Georgetown, TX.

This stuff is great for wrinkles (hey, I'm 47) and for dry elbows, hands, and feet! I just bought my second bottle yesterday.

GREAT stuff!! and, it's cheap!
It sounds strange but utter balm(used on cows utters when they are dry and cracked) is the best thing for really dry skin.
