Government Funded Health Care?

If America ever changed their Healthcare program to be government funded or partially government funded similar to that of the UK or Canada, would it effect the salaries of Health care workers & dental care providers?
Answers:
If the UK's HCW's salaries are anything to go by then it will have little effect; General Practitioners (the lowest paid Doctors) in the UK earn £250k per annum. Dentists are self employed and are not funded by the NHS, and Surgeons/specialist earn an absolute mint.Nurses earn between £16k and £55k. and Care Assistants earn about £6/hour upwards.
