If you are in the USA, straight skirts are more fashionable right now, but you actually need to wear the skirt that looks best on you. An A-line skirt is slimming, so I prefer them. Hope you have fun !

pleated ones might make you look a little fat, but only if the pleats don't start at your waist. If you have a flat (not pleated) waist..then not a problem..pleated skirt with a sleeker tank would be surely a much better option.
