PARKINSON DISEASE (PD) is a disease that results from the degeneration of certain neurons (nerve cells) in the brain, leading to PARKINSONISM. PARKINSONISM is a set of symptoms characterized by tremors, rigidity, and bradykinesia (slow movement). PD is not the only cause of Parkinsonism, as many drugs can cause Parkinsonism as a side effect.
