LOL - yuk!! The posh name for a 'numb bum' is ischial bursitis..
It takes longer on a hard surface than a soft one as the restriction of blood flow to the nerves is greater. The pins and needles feeling is just the nerves coming back to life. If you sit for too long, anyway, it can lead to having varicose veins in later life, so 15 minutes is about right if you need to get up and restore feeling to the delicate parts of your anatomy. In a soft chair, because it shapes itself to your shape, the pressure isn't so great so you don't get that feeling quite so quickly.
what a disgusting image! lol
umm, mine never gets numb. i guess it depends on individual differences in circulatory system.
on average i would say it takes over 1 hour though, as in uni lectures and classes at school no one ever complains of a numb bum.

LOL! It take me about 7 minutes, but only happens when I sit on the bathroom throne. I then have to limp to the sink and hobble around for the next 5 minute like a cripple. Ive even sprained my angle, going down stairs. It twisted and I didnt even feel it. The rest of my body did though! Heidi
Less than a couple of hours I guess, depending on the seat. I try not to let it get numb by shifting my weight a little. Really hardcore people will exercise by pinching the cheeks together.
My legs go to sleep before my bottom does.
It depends on where I'm sitting. For some reason when I sit down for a good read on the throne, it happens very quick, if I'm watching TV it may never happen, if I'm at the computer a few hours.
i dont really pay attention, until it happens that is..
