why does impacted cerumen (accumulated earwax) cause pain?
Question:
Answers:
Because it is compressing the eardrum which is an extremely sensitive area with many nerve endings.
Other Answers:
I am not sure. But I can tell you that you should try the ear candeling. Check out some of your local day spas, they usually do them. I get that done from time to time, you would be surprised what comes out of your ears.
Because the cerumen is placing too much pressure on the ear drum (tympanic membrane) Go to a Dr and have the ear canal irrigated by a medical professional, if the condition is severe enough. If it isnt, they can give you some drops to help break up the wax so it can be more readily irrigated out of the canal.
