Burn more calories than you take in.
You should do interval cardio in the morning, eat sensibly and do some moderate weight training 2-3X per week.
Don't eat after 9PM and never, ever drink your calories - it's just sugar - drink water and diet soda.

WORK OUT.. go up and down your house stairs 20 times a day
eat half the portion you usually eat and do small exercises every day to increase the metabolism rate . Its more healthy this way
Exercise is important, even 20 minutes of cardio 3 times per week and lifting weights 3 times a week. Remember, everything helps! Take stairs whenever possible, park further from your destination, etc. Nutritionally, eat small meals more often, combining a lean protein with a carbohydrate and adding in lots of fruits and veggies. By small meals, shoot for portion sizes that are about the size of your fist. My info comes from Body for Life and several other sources. I followed this and have lost about 16 pounds in 12 weeks without feeling deprived at all!
