Mosquitoes.....?

how do i get ride of them? every night i get tons of bites and they itch and i really want to get rid of them besides i don't like staying awake all night and trying to swat them. and besides using bug spray.what do they not like cause i need to know so i can use it and please help! thanks!

Answers:
Get some mosquito netting for your bed. You hang it over your bed, and then tuck it in under your mattress. Then you can sleep in peace. No chemicals.

Also - if you could encourage bats - they practically eat their own weight in mosquitos every night!!

Other Answers:
Apparently mosquitoes don't like blood with high levels of vitamin B. So either stock up on B Vits, or drink beer (it contains Vitamin B) lol.

Other than that, get a mosquito net, or one of those plug in insect repellants.
Hey Mandi, First things first, get rid of all the still water near your house (puddles, buckets, small pools etc.), this is where they breed, you will see small black stuff sitting on the top of these areas and it is not dirt, thay are eggs/poop. You should also spray all the cracked areas entering your home with bug spray (bottom of your doors especially, this is where they are most likely getting in. And believe it or not u should pat yourself with vinegar, the fumes and smell over power the mosquitos and they stay away. One last thing and that is.......do not kill the spiders in the area, encourage them they will eat hundreds every night.
Eat some garlic!
i dont think you can cuz
What dynov(sp?) told you is wrong. Yes, mosquitoes breed in standing water, but they take a while to do it, and while you're emptying your pools/puddles/whathaveyou, mosquitoes from at least 1 mile away are making haste to your home. Controlling mosquitoes is a community thing, especially when it comes to draining or treating standing water sources. Nothing you can do personally to treat the water besides throwing in a couple of mosquito dunks will do any good.

If you're getting bit in your home, the best thing you can do is to go around and make sure your window screens are on tight and properly fitted. If there are holes, plug them with a small piece of soft tissue until you can get the screen replaced.

If you still have problems with mosquitoes after that, I would suggest DEET spray on the skin (like OFF! or) or DEET-free creams like Skin-so-Soft. And if that does't do the trick, light some citronella candles for good measure.
