should stretch marks on the stomach be itchy?

Question:
i have a few stretch marks on my stomach from when i gained lots of weight. now that i've lost the weight, the stretch marks are still there and they get kind of itchy. is this normal? can anyone suggest any cream that has worked well to get rid of stretch marks?

Answers:
Yes they will be itchy when you first get them and if they're already there and being irritated by something or creating more stretch marks. There are alot of creams out there but they are really expensive. Really expensive. I tried the one from Avon because it didn't cost that much and it lightened them up but they'll never completely go away. If you have money you can laser them away. Whatever you use, make sure your skin is always hydrated with any kind of lotion. Vitamin E oil or Cocoa Butter Lotion made especially for stretch marks.

Other Answers:
did you try hydrocotizone?
If you moisturize your belly, you'll fade your stretch marks and stop the itching. i recommend cocoa butter.
Yeah, they can get itchy. Vitamin E, Soy. Eating this will help also. Cucumber is good for the skin in general. If they are still red in color, they should turn to pale eventually.
