into your face without embarassing him/her? and how if you both are in a company of many people?

Answers:
My friend and I had a "code word" we would say for example.
Shelia you have a "visitor" to your left etc.
I would definitly want my friend to tell me. be a good friend and tell them!

I like the first answer you were given. There has to be a way to tell someone without humiliation.

This is just me: I would get a tissue and grab her by the hand, .walk away from the crowd with her and remove it myself with it..then I would say, "That's better.".I'd give her a smile and reassure her that it wasn't so bad, but that I would have wanted her to do the same for me.
