Should you put cotton in your ears while showering - does it hurt your ears to continually get water in them?

It doesn't but you may develop swimmer's ear. As for putting cotton in...that is only going to increase the chance of bacteria grownig.

You're kidding, right? I LOVE getting a stream of water to shoot up against my tympanic membrane. It cleans out the wax and just FEELS good. The water drains out easily enough if you just c0ck your head to one side. Afterwards, just use a cotton swab to dry the canal. No biggie.
