Question about Gyms? Please!?

Hi! Me and my friends are looking for a gym to join. I'm no so sure wich one is the best one. I'm just want to lose some weight and be in shape. I heard about Bally but some people say is expensive?? Do you know any other that are actually good and not so expensive that can help me to reach my goal?

Answers:
It depends on where you live. I joined a smaller gym and put $130 down and pay $30 a month. My friend only pays $20 at her gym (Gold's) and she didn't have to put anything down. I would suggest calling gyms in the area and finding out what promotions are going on before committing (like I did).
