Has anyone ever had nerve block in their spine? If so did it help?

Ive had 4 of them. They hurt like mad , and for the type of injury I have they didnt work very well. The first one ws done under a CAT scan the DR placed 6 hollow pins in between my vertebres in my lumbar spine. Then injected the meds through the hollow pins. That hurt really bad, but was over fairly quick. They used a local anastetic. The next was in a seris of 3 the DR injected my lower back with lidocaine to numb the area then he put the medicine directly into my back. 3 weeks 3 visits. Fast easy and almost painless compared to the first one I had. They do help alot of people if you have already tried a number of things this could help you.
Good Luck , and either way its over pretty fast.

I haven't personally had it done, but I've known several people who have, and MOST came out well, and feel better, although they usually do a series of 3 shots.
However, here's the problem. One slip by the anesthesiologist, and you can have a problem for life. My mom had her first shot, did great, felt awesome. About 3 months later, the second, with the same results. But on the 3rd, the doctor hit a nerve. She's been in severe back pain, worse than before, for over 2 years now. Of course, the doctor and the staff deny anything happening, but she says she was screaming telling him there was somthing going wrong....she's now on the strongest pain meds you can get, and will always be.
I'd research it extremely well before doing it, and also, look into the Anesthesiologist that's doing it. Remember, the DOCTOR works for YOU, and you do NOT have to let anyone touch you that you do not feel total trust in.
Best of luck!
I have facet syndrome in my spine i had block injections they put me under but not enough and i felt the needle it hurts real bad and it did help for about 1 day so to me it wasnt worth it. I dont recommend them.
