Can an infection cause a lump after it seems to have healed?

Question:
A wild great horned owl embedded his talons in my hand about 3 weeks ago. (I was conducting a blood-draw for research purposes and he decided he wasn't in the mood for science.) I went to the emergency room and got the wounds cleaned and completed a full regimen of antibiotics. Since then, all the punctures have healed nicely and only one seems likely to scar. However, I recently noticed a lump underneath one of the healed punctures. It isn't red or oozy or anything, nor is it particularly painful. It is, however, a definite lump right below the skin. I just don't know what to make of it.

Answers:
It is probably just scar tissue but you may want to check it out.
Soft tissue sarcomas can develop after an injury.
