A doctor will only prescribe antidepressants if you really need them. I'd suggest trying to get by without them. Perhaps a friend could help you identify and overcome what is depressing you. For instance my daughter thought she was depressed the other day when suddenly her neighbour called round to say her partner had just died. That shock quickly put life in perspective for my daughter.
