Work related injury!!?

Question: I lost my spleen while doing training in a corrections facility (Sept 2001) when I lived in Idaho. I received 8Hundred some odd dollars for the time off due to my injury (workmans comp) I went to a lawyer, he said losing a spleen is not a life altering loss. I cannot receive compensation, but if i lost a pinkie i would get several thous. I live in Calif. now what can i do

You have to be able to show how the loss of your spleen caused you either further suffering or kept you from being able to perform your job.
